Putting Periods onto Past Characters - Thoughts?

I had attached this to another thread in the Season 6 discussion but I think it bears more scrutiny than that:

Logan is mentioned in another thread here about him dying, living, being in a coma, character limboland and one of the absolutely unbearable things that 24 continues to do is not wrap a bow on characters.

How difficult would a short passage from one of the myriad of characters we have available like "Oh hey - did you hear about Logan? Yeah, died last nite of complications" or "Hey, I heard that Logan got that new staff position in the somethingorother - can you believe that?" and it's done, out of the way and paid off.

That we don't have a period in the sentences that are characters that were so intergral to the storyline of an entire SEASON of a show we all love sets me off. What about YOU guys?

I'd like to know maybe 2/3rds of the way through S7. But I think he's alive.

They wont do that until they know if they want to bring him back or not.

They're just keeping the option alive.

Well I guess its safe to say that Logan is chilling at the Ranch?? I saw at other discussions that he "might" be back for S8...
