was george mason really needed in season 2 ?

what do you think on many other forums people kinda doubt whether he was really needed in the story. but i think he was as he was the director of ctu and would have still been if he hadnt been exposed to radio-active materials. Laughing

I think Mason was pretty central to the whole sesason 2 plot, he was deff. needed.

Mason added so much to the story: after Jack, he's my favourite character in Day 2. Not so much in Day 1, to be honest... he was annoying then. But in Day 2, he shows growth, we learn more about him, and I think he's a tragic figure like Ryan Chapelle: everyone hates him, but in the end, his exit makes you sympathise... and cry.

I say that he was definitely needed, because without Mason, Jack would have died in the middle of season 2!

Mason was awesome in the way that you hated him until he got sick, then you just felt so bad for him, and besides, if it wasn't for him, Jack would have died! Then there would be no arguing on what the best season is! lol!

Mason is one of my favourite characters. He played it so well. He was definitely needed. The season wouldn't have been the same without him.

That who plane thing was just the saddest scene ever in 24 history. I have the music from that scene and it makes me want to cry!

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure how you came to this whole starting of this thread, but without George, S2 wouldn't have been very good at all. And besides, then Jack would be dead cause he would have gone down with the Cessna!

Loved George Mason in season 2.

However...is it just me or was it a lil cruel of him to just sit in the back of the plane & let Jack make the call to Kim telling her he was going to die ?

Think how diffrent the perils of Kim would have been had that call not been made. & on a more human level how distressing it was for her believing she was now orphaned.

george mason is a true G on the show. He didnt like jack but was ALWAYS working for the good guys. He sacrificed his life instead of having bauer trash that plane.

He also knew how good Jack was so jack could work more freely w/ him.

IN season 2 he was his best and his last we'll see him on the show Sad

JUST THINK if mason wasn't in it and wasn't dying who would crash the plane........jack.......then JACK WOULD BE DEAD...then how would you all feel.
