Ok.  I'm new to the forum, and i know everyone's gonna only want to chat about Day 7.  But, i wanna get the classic seasons dicsussion going again.  Not spoilers, and such ... just things that really stood out throughout the series.

In The Beginning ....

if you started on season 1, as most probably did, i know 24 was a great show .. and so clever in the "real time' aspect  ... but there was a moment, or several, that really made this show shine, and grab you.

I just want to know, what were those scenes?  The ones you remember to this day.  It may not be the same for everyone, and maybe you didn't start on the first episode.

From episode 1 ... one of my favorite scenes that really showed me what the show can do, apart from other shows, and awesome editinbg from the crew .. is where Walsh first briefs CTU on the assassination attempt .. and ezcuse everyone but jack ... and the moment when walsh says ... "we got to find this shooter"  and it goes into a triple split screen, both walsh and jack on top , then the plane on the bottom.

To me that was just so awesome of an angle in storytelling; i knew this show was going to be diferent from anything else.  And never skipped a beat from that moment on ...

I love Season 1 and there are lots of amazing moments...

Off the top of my head:

• Jack takes Nina hostage and shoots her with Gaines witnessing it all. An extremely great scene.
It's Yelena... (No need for explanation here)
• Robert Ellis. A very very brief character that added layers of background for the entire show.
• George Mason in every scene he had. Especially this:
 Tony Almeida: "No, I don't"
George Mason: "No, you don't. Ah well, I do" (while imitating Tony)
• I could keep going all night Razz. But Almeida, Palmer and Novick were great this season too.

I didn't want to make a huge posts .. but i will tell you this.  to me, out of all the season, the MOST powerful scene, that suprised me the most as far as it happened unexpectedly, and still gives me goosebumps ...

is in episode 1pm - 2 pm ... the last minute.  You've watch over 12 eopisoeds, and jack and palmer have never spoken, but you know eventually they have to cross paths somewhere ... then , out of NOWHERE , palmer and secret service march into CTU, confont tony ... and it the way he said it ...

"I'm here to see Jack Bauer"

And i was cheering!!!  "Yes!  OMG!  No, wait!  I gotta wait a whole week for the next episode"!

to me, no scene will top the high expectations i had for a next episode, than that one right there.

Yeah definitely a classic when palmer storms into CTU asking for Jack Bauer. I think what sealed the deal for me in 24 was the not knowing who was the mole and then finally finding out it was Nina! Then she killed Terri no happy ending! This was the show for me!

I bought the first season because it was cheap, i was only planning to watch one episode when i sat down but i ended up staying up all night. The next day i ordered the rest of the seasons.

I dont think there was any particular moment for me though just the fact that something major always seems to happen on the hour so you have to watch the next episode.

I was hooked from the start. My favorite scene though was when Jack and Audrey were in that garage in season 4, and right when they are about to be killed, the terrorist is shot from an unseen person... then you see Tony standing in the opening of the garage with his gun still pointed at where the terrorist's head was!

the first bit of 24 i saw, was near the start when Jack and Richard (Walsh) were escaping that building with the keycard and Richard is gunned down. i was channel surfing at the time.

the second bit i saw and the point i became hooked was about halfway through the series - it was toward the end of the episode where Jack rescues Teri and Kim from Gaines' gang with the help of that guy (Rick?) and they get into a firefight by that van/truck. after that, i watched the rest of the series and bought the boxset on DVD as soon as it came out and have been a fan since!

i didnt have Sky though until i got my own place last year, so to watch series 2, i went round to a friends place religiously every Sunday to watch it on BBC3 (or whatever channel it was on). with series' 3-6 ive had to wait and follow it on DVD.

I started on the first season.  the very first episode i was drawn in.  it was when the CTU heads talked about the assasination attempt or when they fount out they found out a plane blew up in the dessert or something.  Both of those parts got 120% of my attention.

When David Palmer and his secret service went into CTU and said"I need to see Jack Bauer" ... that was one of the greatest moments in the show up to date.  If you watched everything before you most likely felt an eruption inside of you or something.

the split screen tricks really help the show imo.  and they use it so daam well.

not only was this show beyond good quality wise, they had style and stuff to make it look cool as ****.  show is too good, sitting in a room in class by itself.

The first 24 I actually watched was a random episode of season 5 on sky and decided it was good enough to watch the first season on my friends DVD that he had offering to lend me for ages. The season was brilliant but I don't really remember a particular scene hooking me, rather the overall standard of the episodes kept me watching the season itself.
However the scene at the near end of the season (it's yelena Razz) really was the main scene that hooked me on the overall show....my reaction was along the lines of NO F'ING WAY and after the season was over I went and bought seasons 1-6 on DVD for myself and watched seasons 2-6 within a week.

I'd never seen it, and I went to rent season 1...but they didn't have it, so I rented season 2 (The guy in the movie place said it was the best) and after a couple episodes, I knew this was an awesome show.

I started to see 24 in the season six, and from the first chapter totally hooked me, and since then I lost no chapter.
