24: Nightfall

My new graphic novel, 24: Nightfall, arrived today.

It tells the story of how Jack Bauer, before he became an agent working for CTU, leads an operation to remove Victor Drazen under the orders of then-Senator David Palmer and British MI6 agent Stephen Saunders.

I'm just about to read it in a one-er. Anyone else read it? Thoughts?

I think I'm gonna buy myself a Christmas present this year. This seems good! But is it the first in the series? I want to keep it in sequence.

i here there's some inconsinticies (or however u spell it) between the book and season 5, where jacks mentor, christopher henderson was introduced. this was written before season 5, and since the writers of the show didnt have much to do with it, henderson was not in it. Or something to that effect.

Christopher Henderson is in Nightfall for definate. Also making a guest apperance from Day 5 is Charles Logan. There are no inconsistencies I can detect, although the character of Stephen Saunders is nothing like the Day 3 representation (although this is before he turns evil).

I'd recommend it. It's a stand-alone story, Josephine, linking with Day 1 and Day 3, and the first recorded mission of Jack Bauer.

It's perfect Christmas present material. Wink

your right, it was the graphic novel one shot that featured the inconsitincies. carry on with ur discussion. Smile

last year i got all the seasons of 24 for channukah / cause i got injured so i needed something to watch. (hence the 5 seaons 7 days)

this year i wont be getting season 6, but because i have 1-5, im sure ill pick it up someday

Yep, I've got One Shot as well. In it, Bauer turns up for his first day of work at Los Angeles CTU and Richard Walsh is present and correct. No Henderson.

Although you could argue Henderson recruited Jack into CTU... they never said which CTU. Jack could have been transfered.

Cool, well, buy the sounds of it I'm going to be using my Christmas bonus to buy myself a couple of 24 novels. This will be the first thing I have in the last 3 years that isn't a western. Lol. Thanks for all your help PreviouslyOn24 and cp123.

I was looking through my brother's closet (he's at college), and I saw a book called "24: Declassified". I think I may read it soon, right after I read The Golden Compass off of cp123's recommendation Wink

I don't think I personally know anyone who actually owns a 24 novel, actually, except for a few people, 24 doesn't seem too popular in my area. Hence me being here any time I need to chat about it. Smile

I was looking up about 24 books, comics..etc today and didn't realize there were so many.

I saw Declassified while i was surfing so if you read it DSI, could you let me know what it's like?

Previouslyon24, is the first issue, or the first episode 8 to 11? I don't know if the one i have is the first one.

Ah... bugger. You see, I've got the graphic novel version of 24: NightFall. All the issues are wrapped into a single book.

Therefore I couldn't tell you issue numbers.

Yeah, that cover art is featured in the back of the collected volume I've got.

Question: when it says it starts at eight, where's the action taking place? Because half of the thing is in America and half in Kosovo, and it usually runs on local time, but that means two different timezones. It starts in Washington at 6pm with Palmer and Novick: perhaps if your first page is Jack in Kosovo, the local time of eight won't match with the standard American time?

That's the best I can come up with. Shocked
